HERFIO GUIDE
Outdoor Cigar Spots in San Jose
San Jose does not have many outdoor cigar spots we can clearly stand behind, but the two that do make the list are both worth staying awhile.
THE SHORT VERSION
West Coast Cigars has a real outdoor yard in Willow Glen, while Mission Pipe has a covered patio on The Alameda. Those are very different from simply finding a chair outside a smoke shop, which is why this list stays short.
West Coast Cigars
Willow Glen
The dedicated outdoor yard gives this Willow Glen shop a real outdoor smoking option instead of just a chair by the door.
Just south of central Willow Glen, West Coast Cigars is one of San Jose’s easiest places to make a full cigar night out of the stop. There is indoor smoking, a big outdoor yard, BYOB and a walk-in humidor, so you can shop first and then stay awhile.
Worth knowing: It is still a cigar shop and lounge first, not a restaurant patio.

The Alameda
Mission Pipe’s covered patio gives The Alameda a confirmed outdoor cigar-smoking option attached to a serious tobacconist.
Mission Pipe feels like an old-school San Jose tobacconist in the best way. It sits on The Alameda, has indoor smoking and a covered patio, and carries the deepest cigar lineup we found anywhere in the city.
Worth knowing: Come for the cigars and patio; this is not a food-and-drink destination.
See the full place profileHow we made this list: Only places where outdoor cigar smoking is clearly allowed made this guide. Ordinary patio seating was not enough.
Editorial picks are separate from paid placement. Policies, hours, and cigar inventory can change, so the individual place pages show the underlying research and verification details.
