HERFIO GUIDE
Where to smoke cigars late in San Francisco.
San Francisco is not a great late-night cigar town, but there are a few places where the night can keep going after the daytime tobacconists lock up.
THE SHORT VERSION
Cigar Bar & Grill is the clearest choice when you want to keep smoking into the night. Occidental gives you the better cigar-first room, while Sam’s works when Union Square is where you already are. None of these should be treated like 2 a.m. guarantees every night—check the day before you head over.
Cigar Bar & Grill
Jackson Square
The strongest late-night play when you want a cigar with food and drinks instead of a retail-shop vibe.
One of the few places in the city built around making a night of it: food, drinks and a cigar-friendly outdoor setup in Jackson Square. Better for sitting down than simply buying a stick and leaving.
Worth knowing: Hours vary by night, and the smoking setup is outdoors.

Financial District
A real cigar room that stays useful later than most of the dedicated cigar shops.
The most complete cigar-first stop in the city: indoor smoking, a humidor, a full bar and a deep brand mix in the Financial District. If you only have time for one San Francisco lounge, this is the obvious place to understand the scene.
Worth knowing: Closing time changes by day.

Union Square
A useful Union Square option when you want a humidor and a drink later in the evening.
A Union Square cigar lounge with a walk-in humidor, drinks and food in the middle of one of the city’s busiest visitor districts. More sit-down lounge than simple retail counter.
Worth knowing: The online brand list is thinner than the physical humidor experience.

Editorial picks are separate from paid placement. Policies, hours, and cigar inventory can change, so the individual place pages show the underlying research and verification details.
