HERFIO GUIDE

Where to have a cigar and a cocktail in San Diego.

San Diego’s true cigar-and-cocktail list is tighter than its overall lounge scene. The clearest choices are two Gaslamp rooms and a Kearny Mesa Scotch lounge.

THE SHORT VERSION

If the drink matters as much as the cigar, you do not need a giant list. Cesar’s is the full Gaslamp nightlife version, Cuban Cigar Factory adds a big walk-in humidor to the downtown mix, and Excalibur gives Kearny Mesa a Scotch-forward alternative away from the Gaslamp.

3 picks
1

Cesar's Cigar and Spirits Lounge

Gaslamp Quarter

The Gaslamp’s most complete cigar-and-cocktail stop: full bar, walk-in humidor, indoor and outdoor smoking and late hours.

Gaslamp cigar bar built for a full night out: indoor and outdoor smoking, a walk-in humidor, premium cigars and a full bar with a strong whiskey and Scotch focus.

Worth knowing: This is a 21+ nightlife lounge, especially once the Gaslamp gets busy.

Cuban Cigar Factory

Gaslamp Quarter

Another Gaslamp option with a full bar, indoor smoking and a large walk-in humidor, so the cigar side is every bit as substantial as the drinks.

Gaslamp lounge and cigar shop with indoor smoking, a large walk-in humidor, house cigars, beer and wine, and hours that run well into the night.

Worth knowing: The bar leans heavily into beer, wine and local brews even though the venue also lists a full bar.

Excalibur Cigar & Scotch Lounge

Kearny Mesa

Kearny Mesa alternative for anyone who would rather build the night around Scotch and a walk-in humidor than stay downtown.

Kearny Mesa cigar-and-Scotch lounge with a walk-in humidor, premium selection and a full bar, better suited to settling in than making a quick retail stop.

Worth knowing: It is a destination stop; there is no walkable cigar cluster around it like there is in the Gaslamp.

How we made this list: Selections require both a cigar-focused sit-down use case and a confirmed full bar at the specific San Diego location. Beer-and-wine-only lounges are not stretched into a cocktails guide just to make the list longer. Paid placement does not determine inclusion or ranking.

Editorial picks are separate from paid placement. Policies, hours, and cigar inventory can change, so the individual place pages show the underlying research and verification details.
